When the website TimeZone.com comes together with the team at Habring², you expect great things…and this watch is certainly a great thing! This watch combines Habring²’s unique crown-operated chronograph with a clean, vintage-inspired design from the minds at TimeZone.
The watch was created as a limited edition of 20 pieces to celebrate TimeZone’s 20th Anniversary in 2015. The site has a long history with Richard Habring, so the collaboration seemed perfect to commemorate their milestone.
The “Chrono COS” in the name of the watch comes from the fact that it uses Habring²’s patented “Crown Operator System”, which means that all the chronograph functions are controlled by turning the crown instead of pressing pushers. This has a number of benefits, such as reducing the ingress of water, dust, or anything else, reducing wear and tear, and improving reliability.
The design of the dial is also noteworthy. The goal was to create an ultra-clean and legible dial that harkened back to the great chronographs of the mid 20th century. We could go on for pages about the thoughtful design that went into this watch, but instead we’ll refer you to this interview that gives a ton of detail:
So what you have here is a watch that is somewhat like a Porsche by Singer Vehicle Design – retro looks with the benefit of improved, modern underpinnings…the best of both worlds!

Habring2 is the brainchild of Richard and Maria Habring. Richard created his first timepieces in the 1980s at the acclaimed watchmaking school at Karlstein an der Thaya. He continued to mastermind and handcraft tourbillions and complicated chronographs throughout the 1980s and 1990s, under his own name and for brands under the umbrella of Les Manufactures Horologères (LMH).
