This ultra thin Reverso 1931 pays tribute to the historic original Reverso 201 that housed a diminutive calibre 822. The Reverso 201 sold for a mere 5 francs at that time. Imagine living in those days!
However, the price did not convey the extravagance of the blazing red dial, which was an uncommon sight in the midst of the Great Depression. Its art deco case and markings further enhanced the feeling that it was a special watch from the Grand Maison, JLC.
This tribute with its elegant case and lacquer rouge dial was only available for a short time through boutiques. We offer it here in Mint condition and include the original box and papers! With this watch, the so- called annees folles of the past are recalled in just one “crazy year” of the present.
Now that that year has passed, chances to own this instant classic whittle away quickly as well.
Like the original, it displays only the word “Reverso” on the front. Not even the manufacturer’s name is visible on the dial. Instead, it can be seen on the rear of the case with other engravings, professing its uniqueness.
Even the buckle is demure, with only the letters “JL” engraved upon it.
If you missed getting your hands on this future classic, this really could be your last chance to obtain one in such beautiful condition! Having only the slight marks of normal wear, this beautiful watch is scare to find in such complete assembly, full kit!
